SCHOLARSHIP FUNDThe goal of the scholarship fund is to help eliminate one of the leading obstacles preventing single parents and minority students from attending college - the soaring cost of tuition. We believe that when all students have the opportunity to attend college, our society thrives. If we provide these talented students with the means to higher education, we may be developing the future leaders of the Bay Area - and of the world.
OUR APPROACH
On average, tuition for higher education increases annually by 8% - thereby effectively doubling the cost of tuition every nine years (FinAid.org 2009). As the price of college soars, more students are left without the means to attend. To alleviate this financial burden on students, we fund two distinctive scholarships:
The Single Parent Scholarship - $1,000 per recipient
Available to single parents who are California residents and are either graduating high school seniors or full time undergraduate students enrolled at a two or four-year institution.
The George Geng On Lee Minorities in Leadership Scholarship - $1,000 per recipient
Available to minority students who are either graduating high school seniors or full time undergraduate students enrolled at a four-year institution.
